
The Villa Residential Services is
licensed by the Ohio Department of
Developmental Disabilities (DD) to serve 55 persons.
These male and female residents range from 16 through 55 years of
age.
Residential Services Funding is a combination of County, State,
Medicaid, Individual’s SS/SSI, and
Private Pay.
The
Residential Services for persons with DD:
»Create a home-like atmosphere
encouraging independence and satisfaction;
»Promote skills of cooking, laundry, personal health, emotional,
social, spiritual and educational, along with self-help and recreation;
»Enhance self-esteem for residents to assist in making plans for
their own future;
»Provide caring staff supporting positive growth for residents;
»Train
residential and recreational skills fostering growth in independence and
personal well-being for the residents;
»Foster
growth through community participation;
»Acquisition of adult responsibility for giving as
well as receiving on special occasions.
The Residential Services
provide:
»24 hour
care/supervision
»Medical coordination (Doctor’s appointments, supports and training)
»Delegated
Nursing;
»Service
Coordination;
»Recreational
activities;
»Clothing
purchase and care;
»Daily
living skills development and supports;
»Regular
opportunities for community
involvement;
»Transportation,
and
»Respite
for persons in need.
The residents live in homes completed in November 2001.
Each resident has their own bedroom with a bathroom located between
each two bedrooms. Every
resident chooses his/her individual bedroom décor and is responsible for
its cleanliness.
Each home
has its own manager and is staffed 24 hours a day with wake staff. Staff
are trained in the care of each of the 8 persons in their home and serve
just that individual home.


Staff are trained in delegated nursing, CPR and First Aide,
and COPE. Each staff must
have a current driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED.
